Starting Real Life Chess Club help Dear GK friends,

I've decided to start a chess club here in Mongolia. Most folks here can't afford any sort of FIDE membership or anything like that, so I'd like to offer a 'club rating' (unofficial of course, but I'm sure people will like it), organize some Swiss-style tournies, and give out some training articles and such.

I'd like to find some kind of software, or websites, that would help me with the Swiss Tournies, and especially something that would help me calculate club ratings for all involved. Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Roland

If you go to www.chessscotland.com, you will find an explanation of the grading system and a downloadable calulator.

You mentioned in another thread... ...about FIDE ratings for your potential club players. FIDE has a listing for the Mongolian chess federation at -> www.fide.com . Perhaps you could contact them directly?

Roland hello!!! If you are a member of the US Chess Federation
you can write them and they will gladly
help you in your endevor.

About Swiss style tourneys. You can
buy software that will set up swiss style
tourneys for you. You pt in the names
and the program does the rest.

The USCF can be of help if you seriously want
to start what you are speaking of.

Chuck and Buckle Thanks a bunch. I'll contact the USCF.

I'm working already at getting in touch with the Mongolian Chess Fed folks. Every single name on their list is out of date, but I've been able to find one of the replacements. Meeting with him today.
