♡ 57 ( +1 | -1 ) TELL YOUR Chess SUCCESSES HEREI wanted a place to go see how people are doing, etc. Where they will NOT be accussed of "bragging" etc. So if you beat a 1300 the first time. Or your first GM or what ever. Here's the place. I want to share in your celebration.
For myself...you get old enough, you start getting "retroactive" successes like this. Found out yesterday that corr GM Ian S. Brooks 2600+, whom I had one game with & drew (I am a Schlecter fan), is now a 2003 national co-champ! Granted he was a mere Master then (maybe 2250ish ?!), but it feels good! :)

♡ 74 ( +1 | -1 ) First fish rises to bait...You sure no accusation of bragging?... <head swells> ;)
OK then... I've beat Chessmaster 9000 at CHESSMATER SETTING 2900ish or something ELO ( apparently ), this finally happened after a life time of attempts on various models of the underlying 'THEKING' engine/ OK I had to rewind a move about 2 times when it showed me my obvious mistake, but still I'm fairly chuffed with this, if you keep plugging away its a wonderful day when you finally play a near perfect game! I may have the game PGN saved if your interested? Still cant beat 1300+ ELO OTB players much though in my land ( Scotland )! [:[)
Other than that I've beat a guy who's sister drew with a father in law of a GMs nephew.... ;o)

♡ 14 ( +1 | -1 ) ..My greatest accomplishment has been winning a five-minute blitz game against a 2000 USCF rated player, with 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 b5.

♡ 20 ( +1 | -1 ) hmm...My best OTB results would be a draw with a 2200 rated player and... No, that's about it. Stopped playing OTB and didn't start early enough to amass some substantial results.

♡ 130 ( +1 | -1 ) Sputus, Ah Scotland ! Heard I'vehad some family there, necked & tattoed-blue(really). Perhaps they were Asked to Leave for Isle of Man, eh ?! 8-) But truly, to see Scotland, Man & all the Isles of UK is my dream vacation, with some Scandinavia thru Bavaria by land I hope. Thanks for your post, starting us off here. And Congrats! ...Tho I don't know PGN from < select a favorite anatomical part, that you can not see > , but if you're saying to put the game here. Sounds great to me! Would enjoy to see the fruit of your perserverance. Death to Chess-Boxes! ....Good stuff everyone! Look forward to more. >>>Another for me: My only simul was 2 games online vs IM Michael Brooks. Got my "clock cleaned" twice. So I feel an accomplishment that one was due to Typo! [I think Life is maybe happier if one is easy to please, yes?]
>>>Best Blitz, did have a 10 min draw with IM Norman Weinstein. It made my day back then. (Never been over 3rd in a Blitz tourney either, till one day went 14-1 for 1st. Amazing eveyone, cuz I'm "That Last Game" all the time in 40/90! So I was waiting for the dead to rise, that day. But apparently one miracle was enough! And Never recurred) BTW, the guy I lost to...was The One 2150 mentioned in "Eyes" thread that stares at opposite side of board from where he's thinking, & makes faces. Grrr. But I LOVE the downright weirdness of Chess !!

♡ 33 ( +1 | -1 ) First Always the Most Memorable? My first game with a GM came when I was a young 2100 player (GM Benko, then still a 2600 player ranked in the Top 50 in the world--young whippersnappers tend to forget that he made the Candidates multiple times in the day). The game itself was a very boring draw, but I sure was proud of myself <grin>!
