Lopez, Damiano, Lucena, Polerio, Philidor...
Allow me to be the first to publicly congratulate our own ccmcacollister for having several of his old postal games added to the Chesslab database (go to -> www.chesslab.com and search for "Collister" in the pre-1991 section). You can see him in all sorts of action, ranging from Dutchin' it up with correspondence GM Ian Brooks to smacking a guy around with the white side of the Smith-Morra. Very entertaining.
I'm sure, given the high caliber of competitors here at GK, that Craig's not the only one with such a claim to posterity. But nevertheless I think it's worth a hearty congratulations--think of it, a hundred years from now someone will be pushing wood, run some thoughts through his database, and see Craig's name come up alongside a crusher of a move. And he'll say, "I don't know who this Collister fellow was, but he played a mean game of chess."

That would be
book author Eric Schiller getting a dose of the Omaha two step! Or is it really Bogg in disguise?

I would like to mention
sugarandspice as the woman behind, The Man, The Myth, The Legend. Where it not for her constant ministrations Craig "The Mighty Claymore" Collister would not be supping at Caissa's table, drinking the nectar of the Gods. Throw a few TN's our way OH Venerable One, waifs and beggars that we are :)

Corrections Needed <blush>!
After checking out those Craig's nice games, I checked my own and found that they had quite a few of my games, though as usual 6 of my games were credited to a GM with the same last name, lots had just my initial and one just my last name, and one had the result reversed (hint: no, I did not get mated with White vs. the Alekhine in 28 moves <grin>). I finally decided to let the database operator know about the errors even though it added two embarassing losses vs. 2280 players to my name 'cause it also added two wins and a draw vs. IM's.

Aw, shucks ...
as a great Petroff advocate once said.
Thanks Jeff, for the great thread. And to everyone here.
And you Have got me very interested to find games from more GK'ers on this d-base and others. (I wish more people gave their name, but still bet there are quite a number to be found.) So I want to take a look at that.
fmgaijin I understand! It appears my Cote loss is incomplete too. I definately remember sending him an IF move. A 3 or 4 move combination starting with a Rook sac and ending with I RESIGN! But that is all missing. Probably just as well, being well busted where it Does end.
Just done writing to fmgaijin and looking up his games; I found not only can he be confused with one GM, but yet an earlier one has but one letter difference in his name plus the same initial. And another 2400+ player is now entering the scene to perhaps make for later confusion. On the otherhand, having ones play being easily confused with 2 GM's is not the worst thing one could suffer in Chess! :)
tertsius That's Clai'amore ! You gots to have the accent on it! Thanks tho for pointing to the real power behind the board. Having a Mrs. who plays Chess is a special blessing !!
Thanks everyone ... Regards, Craig AC }8-)
